“ In Lorena Rode’s series, organic forms intertwine with insemination tools to form peculiar, almostoverstimulated bodies. What initially appears soft and playful reveals itself as a complex arrangement of vegetal, animal, and human reproductive organs. The sculptures point to a present in which bodiesare increasingly embedded in logics of production, and fertility, availability, and permanence havebecome normative expectations. What becomes visible is not only vulnerability, but also the violenceinscribed within processes of reproduction and exploitation.”
